The  Westport PAL Lacrosse Program facilitates the long-term development of the skills necessary for our lacrosse players to become great competitors, teammates and young adults. The curriculum has been developed in coordination with Will Koshansky and his Staples High School varsity coaching staff and is made up of clinics, house leagues and travel teams for all skill levels. This coordination will foster a continuity of approach to skill development and game play from an early age through a player’s high school years.

Fall Lacrosse “Fall Ball”

We want to encourage multi-sport participation and do our best to create schedules that do not conflict with other in-season sports. We understand that schedules may change and as a result, Fall Ball requires less of a commitment than our in-season spring programming.  It’s ideal for returning players who want to keep their stick skills sharp as well as for those who are brand new to the sport. PAL + Coach K's Holiday Skills Clinic 2022 November & December

Coach K’s Holiday Skills Clinic – Kindergarten through 8th Grade

The Holiday Skills Clinic is a great opportunity for youth players to keep a stick in their hand as the weather changes and we move indoors. These sessions are 60 minutes designed to help our players improve their game and grow their love of the sport. Each night will have a different focus and players can expect to train with multiple coaches throughout November and December. Each night will include competitive games in which our skills are put to the test! Players will be grouped based on age and ability to make sure all players have the best experience. This clinic is great for all players, from beginner to “expert”!

We are excited to be holding these sessions in the Staples HS Fieldhouse.

PAL + Coach K's Winter Box Experience 2023 January & February

Coach K’s Winter Box Experience – 3rd through 8th Grade

The Winter Box Experience is a special program where players will participate in both clinics and house league games in a box lacrosse environment. Each week will alternate between teaching the box skills and playing in box games. Box lacrosse has been touted by College and HS coaches across the United States (and Canada) as one of the best ways for players to quickly improve their skills. A box lacrosse setting results in more touches, more dodges, more shots, more decisions, and more time for improvement than an outdoor field clinic of the same length. We intend to split the groups up into teams and create a league play system for the box game days. Total number of teams will depend on registrations.

In the clinic and gameplay, players will be split up by age and ability to make the experience for each athlete the best it can be.

We will be using box goals and a smaller field to replicate the box lacrosse experience. This clinic/house league is great for all players, from beginner to “expert”!

We are excited to be holding these sessions in the Staples HS Fieldhouse.
