In an effort to main stream the communication between parents, coaches and Westport PAL Officials the following procedure has been established.

1. All matters of concern should be discussed directly with individual coaches if the matter is of a serious nature, please contact Darryl Delia, Director of Youth Sports.
(If a parent is not comfortable directly communicating with the coach, they should contact the Division Commissioner).

All calls that reach the Division Commissioner level will be shared and documented with a Westport PAL Coaches Committee & Board of Directors.

2. If the coach and parent are unable to come to a resolution, the coach will document the call and direct the caller to the Grade Commissioner.

3. If the Division Commissioner and parent are unable to come to a resolution, the Division Commissioner will document the call and will notify the Coaching Committee Chair.

4. If the parent decides to call the Coaches Committee chairs, and the issue can still not be resolved, the call will again be documented and then directed to the Westport PAL Football & Cheerleading President or PAL Director of Youth Sports.

COACHES AND COMMISSIONERS ARE ALL INSTRUCTED TO POLITELY END ANY CONVERSATION WHERE A PARENT DISCUSSES OR MENTIONES ANY CHILD OTHER THAN THEIR OWN.

All matters of concern received by board members, administrators and volunteers should immediately be directed in accordance with the above order of communication. It is imperative that comments, recommendations and decisions regarding coaches and/or the Westport PAL Football & Cheerleading program must be approved by the Westport PAL Board of Directors.

Please understand that it is our intention to streamline the communication process, remove the potential for minor issues to develop into major issues and better develop and support our coaching staff. In the end we will have better documentation and information regarding the effectiveness of our coaching staff and program.

Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.
