 PAL Youth Wrestling | Winter Season 2022/2023

Our season will begin December 6, 2022, and continue through February 23, 2023
Open to All  | Grades 3 - 8

 

Our program will focus on wrestling fundamentals, developing confidence, fitness, fair play, and comradery.

Wrestling ranks 6th in participation for all boys' sports and is the fastest-growing NCAA sport for girls.

Athletes will have the opportunity to engage at whatever level they feel is appropriate to match their interests and ability.

Wrestling is diverse anyone can participate regardless of size or gender or experience.

Westport PAL has partnered with Staples Athletics and Southside Wrestling Club bringing some of the
best wrestling Coaches in the country to PAL!

Youth Basic Non-Competition Program Details

Dates: December 6, 2022 - February 23, 2023 | Days: Tuesday and Thursday

Time: 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm   Location: Staples High School Field House - 70 North Avenue, Westport

Practice gear: Wrestling shoes are required | Headgear is optional | Shorts/Sweatpants, T-shirt | Plenty of water

All athletes are required to follow all health and safety protocols as established
by Staples High School Athletics and in place for the season.

 

MEDICAL FORM

All registered athletes are required to submit a medical form prior to participating in a PAL sports program.
Submit the form to the Wrestling Coach.  Athletes without a completed medical form will not be allowed to participate.

Youth Competition Program Details
The program will meet four days a week | One year of wrestling experience required

Dates: December 6, 2022 - February 23, 2023

 

|Days: Tuesday and Thursday | Time: 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

 Location: Staples High School Field House - 70 North Avenue, Westport
 

Days: Monday & Wednesday Time: 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Location: South Side Wrestling Center -3402 Fairfield Ave., Bridgeport (Post road just past the circle in Fairfield)

Competition: Headgear and Singlet are required for competition and optional for practice | Plenty of water.
Singlets are available through South Side Wrestling


Competitions will be as part of the South Side Travel Team
A USA Wrestling card and transportation to tournaments are required.  | Carpooling is available
