Westport PAL Youth Wrestling 2021

Winter Sessions December 14 - March 31
Open to All in Grades 5 - 8

 

Our program will focus on the wrestling fundamentals, developing confidence, fitness, fair play, and comradery.

Wrestling ranks 6th in participation for all boys' sports and is the fastest-growing NCAA sport for girls.

Athletes will have the opportunity to engage at whatever level they feel is appropriate to match their interests and ability.

Wrestling is diverse Anyone can participate regardless of size or gender or experience.

Our youth wrestling participants will receive instruction from some of the best coaches in the country,
and who have a great understanding of every individual.

Youth Basic Non-Competition Program Details

Dates: December 14th - March 31   Days: Tuesday's and Thursday's

Time: 5:45 pm - 7:00 pm   Location: Staples High School Field House - 70 North Avenue

Cost:

 

Headgear and Wrestling shoes required.  Plenty of fluids too.

All athletes are required to follow all COVID and other safety protocols as established
by Staples High School Athletics and in place for the season.


Youth Advanced - Competition Optional Program Details

Dates: December 14th - March 31    Days: Tuesday's and Thursday's

Time: 5:45 pm - 7:00 pm - Location: Staples High School Field House - 70 North Avenue

Days: Saturday's - Time: 10:00 am - 11:15 am  
Location: South Side Wrestling Center - 3402 Fairfield Ave., Bridgeport (Post road just past the circle in Fairfield)

Saturday session times/location are subject to change based on enrollment

Cost:

 

Non-Competition: Headgear, wrestling shoes are required and plenty of fluids.

Competition Option - as part of the South Side Travel Team
USA Wrestling card and transportation to tournaments required. (carpooling available)

Headgear, wrestling shoes, singlet are required and plenty of fluids.
Singlets are available through South Side Wrestling

All athletes are required to follow all COVID and other safety protocols as established
by Staples High School Athletics and in place for the season.


Athletes are encouraged to increase their level of participation and can move
from basic through competition at any time during the season.
